Project to support Polish families dealing with Domestic Abuse
The Hampton Trust is a passionate, dynamic and well respected organisation delivering a range of innovative programmes aimed at breaking the cycle of violence, abuse, conflict and exploitation. Working in the domestic abuse arena for the last two decades’ services are delivered across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, West Sussex, Surrey, Leicester and the Channel Islands.
The Hampton Trust is delighted to be working in partnership with West Midlands Police to pilot delivery of their award winning CARA programme to the Sikh and Polish communities. It will also be delivered to the general population. We will be working with a range of local partners and stakeholders to adapt CARA to specific target groups and delivery of the programme will undergo a rigorous evaluation. This is groundbreaking work with potential to inform and influence the criminal justice response to domestic abuse and low risk offenders.
44We are seeking dynamic, self-motivated individuals who thrive on new challenges and being involved in developmental projects. CARA has been successfully delivered across Hampshire since 2012. Adapting CARA to be responsive to Sikh and Polish communities is an exciting next step for this programme which has attracted national and global interest. You must be fluent in either Polish or Punjabi. CARA training will be delivered in English, however the group work will be required to be delivered in Polish and Punjabi.
If you are interested in an exciting 2017 challenge and career development as a CARA facilitator you will undertake group work training and supported by The Hampton Trust will co-facilitate delivery of the conditional caution workshops to groups of low risk offenders of domestic abuse.
